About the Collection

This project contains building a collection of 24 digitized images of African American publications (magazines, journals, newspapers) from the early-to-mid twentieth century to highlight, contextualize, and commemorate the political and creative significance of these resources. Additionally, the site also contains contextual pages to provide expand on and articulate the import of the materials available for viewing and study on the site.

Technical Credits - CollectionBuilder

This digital collection is built with CollectionBuilder, an open source framework for creating digital collection and exhibit websites that is developed by faculty librarians at the University of Idaho Library following the Lib-Static methodology.

The site started from the CollectionBuilder-GH template which utilizes the static website generator Jekyll and GitHub Pages to build and host digital collections and exhibits.
